More Than Just A Pretty Picture
For some, going to a paint and sip sounds like the perfect evening. For others, it sounds like the seventh circle of hell (until they come and realize it is heaven on earth). For most though, it is simply an unknown-- and unknowns can be scary. Wherever you live on the spectrum of paint and sip comfortability you will be sure to benefit from the experience. How?
Stress relief: Life can be hard. Painting is meditative. Your worries dim when your focus shifts to color and shapes and textures and other humans. Add a glass of your favorite drink and relief ensues. Not to mention you will have a creative shepherd guiding your experience so you don't feel alone with an empty canvas but surrounded by music, support and entertaining step by step instruction. Not baaaaad (shepherd reference).
Social connection: Whether you’re flying solo or with family, friends, or colleagues, The Heart Gallery is a social Shangri-La of togetherness. If you are naturally introverted or anti-social, there is opportunity to engage in non-awkward social interactions. Your canvas is your scapegoat, a place to shift your attention to if the conversation gets weird. Its also a wonderful way to meet other scapegoat owners. If you are extroverted, you will be in your element--meeting other open hearts, singing songs, and making magic. Everyone wins.
Creativity boost: Some folks are born with a paint brush in their hand and penchant for whimsy and losing things. Others enter the world with a protractor and passion for ironing and calendars. Most of us are somewhere in between and all are creatively inclined. Don't believe me? Come and see. Start painting...and you will meet yourself. Your gifts, your struggles, your circumstances, your inner critic, your inner child, and maybe even a new part of you that you haven't met yet. If you discover you aren't a fan of your final product, you can always turn it into a modern art piece. Those usually sell for more anyway:). You create every day whether you realize it or not. This is just one more way to do it.
Confidence builder: Confidence grows in the soil of courage. I made that up, but its true. Skills improve in the halls of practice. I made that up too. Also true. The Heart Gallery is a hall filled with great soil. Come grow some confidence.
Memory maker: We put the social in social media. Instagram? More like Inspi-gram, because at the Heart Gallery you will find inspiration and selfie opportunties around every corner. Make memories. Post them. Share them. Or just keep them in the gallery of your heart.
What is a Paint and Sip Class like at the Heart Gallery?
Here is what to expect for those of you who are uninitiated.
You will enter between two wine barrels. An eclectic soundtrack will welcome you in addition to your instructor, and friendly bartender.
You will select a smock or apron. Coveralls, muumuu's, and hazmat suits are also available for coverage.
You may purchase a drink and be directed to a table. All you need to paint will be set before you.
Suddenly, your instructor will appear and walk you through what steps to take to create your painting....slowy, patiently, and with good humor and an affirming spirit. Music will serendade and one on one support will be made available.
When your canvas is complete, you will take your pallet of left over paint and smash it against the paint wall. What is the paint wall? Come see. It's best in person.
Your paint will dry quickly and your piece will be ready to take home by the end of class.
Hope we convinced you. See you soon?
